Angel Island Capital Appoints Nicole Macarchuk as Chief Operating Officer & General Counsel and Robert Ryan as Chief Financial Officer. AIC Completes Executive Team with Addition of Seasoned Financial Services Executives

SAN FRANCISCO — January 10, 2019 — Angel Island Capital (“AIC”), a San Francisco-based alternative investment advisor and credit manager, today announced the appointments of Nicole J. Macarchuk as Chief Operating Officer & General Counsel and Robert Ryan, CPA as Chief Financial Officer. The additions of Ms. Macarchuk – former Managing Director and General Counsel of Public Markets at Kohlberg Kravis Roberts (“KKR”) – and Mr. Ryan – former Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer at Archview Investment Group – round out AIC’s management team.

AIC was formed in 2008 as a specialty finance portfolio company of Golden Gate Capital, a leading private equity firm with over $15 billion of committed capital under management. Angel Island Capital Management, the investment advisory arm of AIC, is a multi-strategy credit manager with approximately $3 billion in investable assets that are focused on bank loans and high-yield bonds.

During her eight-year tenure at KKR, Ms. Macarchuk served as Managing Director and General Counsel of KKR Credit Advisors (U.S.) LLC and KKR Financial Holdings LLC. Before that, Ms. Macarchuk was Co-General Counsel of Och-Ziff Capital Management Group LLC, responsible for the firm’s global private equity, energy and transactional business groups and initiatives, as well as the U.S. public distressed debt, structured products and public equity business units. Previously, Ms. Macarchuk served as counsel at O’Melveny & Myers LLP and O’Sullivan LLP, focusing on private equity transactions and fund formation. Ms. Macarchuk received a B.A. in Economics from Fordham University and a J.D., cum laude, from Fordham University Law School.

As Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Archview Investment Group, Mr. Ryan oversaw the Company’s finance, accounting and operational functions. Prior to that, he served as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer at Ketchem Creek Capital Management LP, Chief Financial Officer of Funds at Chilton Investment Company LLC, and spent over seven years as the Controller at Satellite Asset Management LP. Earlier in his career, he worked in public accounting, most recently for KPMG LLP. Mr. Ryan has an M.B.A. in Finance from New York University and a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from the University of Hartford. He is also a certified CPA.
