Golden Gate Capital, Francisco Partners, and Thoma Cressey Equity Partners Complete Acquisition of WRQ, Inc.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (December 29, 2004) – Golden Gate Capital, Francisco Partners, and Thoma Cressey Equity Partners announced today that they have completed the acquisition of WRQ, Inc., a developer of software for accessing and integrating legacy applications.

WRQ, founded in 1981 and based in Seattle, will maintain its leadership in the host access and host integration markets via its WRQ Reflection and WRQ Verastream product lines. WRQ currently serves over six million customers worldwide.

Following completion of the transaction, Shaun Wolfe was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of WRQ. Previously Mr. Wolfe served as President and Chief Operating Officer of the Company. Mr. Wolfe joined WRQ in 1993 and held key management, marketing and executive positions.
