John Hockin is Co-Head of Public Equities. He has 15 years of private and public equity investing experience. Previously, Mr. Hockin was a Partner at J.H. Whitney & Co. where he spent 10 years doing private equity investing and then co-managed a small cap hedge fund (Whitney Green River Fund) from 2005 to 2010. Prior to J.H. Whitney, Mr. Hockin worked in the investment banking group at Morgan Stanley in New York. During college Mr. Hockin started and successfully sold a baseball hat company called J&J Lids. Mr. Hockin holds an M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business (Arjay Miller Scholar) and a B.A. in Economics from Yale University (cum laude).
Will Slocum joined Golden Gate Capital in 2011. At Golden Gate, Mr. Slocum focuses on public-equity investments. Previously, Mr. Slocum worked as a vice president at ValueAct Capital. Prior to public-equity investing at ValueAct, Mr. Slocum worked as an associate in private equity at Parthenon Capital and in consulting at Bain & Company. He has an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, with distinction, and a B.A. in economics from Williams College (magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa).
Marcello Pantuliano joined Golden Gate Capital in 2009. At Golden Gate Capital, Mr. Pantuliano focuses on public equity investments across a range of sectors. Prior to joining Golden Gate Capital, Mr. Pantuliano worked as an investment banker in the San Francisco office of Bank of America's Real Estate Investment Banking Group. Mr. Pantuliano was also previously associated with Alesco Global Advisors, a REIT focused hedge fund and mutual fund group. Mr. Pantuliano has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.
